Some 359 illegal foreign workers have been detained by police in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region near the Sino-Vietnam border in the first two month of this year, the Xinhua News Agency reported Sunday.

Border defense police in Fangchenggang, Guangxi said that a taskforce was set up to crack down on illegal boarder crossing, said Xinhua.

The police have also handed out materials warning locals not to hire illegal workers.

More illegal workers from underdeveloped neighboring countries have slipped into China, where they can earn more money. Illegal workers pose a big challenge to the public security in China, Xinhua reported.
