The world six powers on Tuesday urged Iran to fulfill its obligations to clarify outstanding issues over it's nuclear plan, and seek a diplomatic breakthrough in the next round talks with Tehran, instead of reporting the issue to the UN Security Council.

The six countries said in a joint statement that "we take note of the useful meetings that took place on February 26-27 in Almaty to carry on a constructive diplomatic process, .... We seek tangible results in this diplomatic process at an early stage."

The statement said that Iran should comply fully and without delay with all of its obligations including prompt entry into force of the Additional Protocol.

Vienna-based diplomats told Xinhua, as the positive step was made in the meeting between Iran and P5+1 on Feb. 26-27 in Almaty, the six countries would prefer to make the joint statement instead of reporting Iran's nuclear issue to the US, leaving a window for the diplomatic opportunity in the near future.

The two sides are seeking to make a deal in April in another round of negotiation to make positive step to end the row, following expert level talks to be held in Istanbul later this month.

The P5+1 group include Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States plus Germany.
