Effortlessly cool Brooklyn resident Empress Of is gearing up to drop her debut EP, Systems, on April 1, and her latest single from the EP, "Hat Trick," has been causing a buzz on the indie music blogs. Pop Labyrinth  described it as "a total dream-pop choon."

Back in 2012 Brooklyn-based twenty-something Lorely Rodriguez, better known as Empress Of, began uploading a series of one-minute ideas on the songwriting process to YouTube under the title "Color Minutes." As a result of this artistic project, her initial two songs "Don't Tell Me" and "Champagne," were formed and, in November 2012, released on 7-inch vinyl.

Following these humble beginnings, Empress Of has been busy recording her forthcoming EP, Systems, which is slated for release worldwide - excluding the US - on April 1 by Double Denim Records before hitting the US on April 2 via Double Denim Records and Terrible Records. The four-track EP contains two songs in English - the single "Hat Trick" and "No Means No" - and two in Rodriguez's native language of Spanish - "Tristeza" and "Camisa Favorita."
