Here's an idea: If you are not satisfied with a film you see out at a movie theater, you can get a full refund if you walk out within the first 20 minutes. Recently, netizens were abuzz over a theater in Wuhan, Hubei Province, that adopted this tactic.

The refund offer is only valid on March 15, the International Day for Protecting Consumers' Rights, leaving some to wonder whether this is a promotional campaign for the theater.

The theater manager commented that voices online have been calling for movie houses to offer refunds for years, though film companies do not support the idea. He said the attempt is meant to appeal to audiences.

A manager surnamed Hu of another movie theater said it would be hard to really implement such a policy in the long term as it is almost impossible to have a standard for a "bad film." Blockbusters like The Life of Pi were applauded by most but still criticized by others. He also suggested a policy like that is less meaningful than the film rating system.

Another theater manager surnamed Xiong also commented that it is an unprecedented measure, and it would not be easy to apply. "This method is not the same as purchases in stores. It is more like dining - you cannot ask for a refund simply because it doesn't fit your taste."
