China and South Korea have set up a hotline on consular issues. The hotline has been tried between two countries last Friday and is being used regularly, the Yonhap News Agency reported Tuesday citing government officials.

"We hope the hotline will contribute a lot in protecting the rights and interests of our people in China," South Korean Foreign Ministry Spokesman Cho Tai-young said on Tuesday.
