Wang Enge appointed Peking University president

Wang Enge has been appointed president of Peking University, replacing Zhou Qifeng, the Ministry of Education said in a Friday statement.

Wang, 56, is a physics professor at the university and also an academic in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He served as executive vice president before the new appointment.

Zhou, 66, was removed from his post due to his age.
