The local government of Guangzhou pledged Tuesday to ensure that the growth rate of local housing prices in 2013 is not higher than that of GDP and urban per capita disposable income. It will also reveal further details on reining in the local property market, in accordance with the State Council's recent policies.

The average home price in Guangzhou rose by 14 percent in February compared to the average price in 2012 of 14,000 yuan per square meter, due to strong demand, Chen Rugui, vice mayor of Guangzhou, said at a press conference Tuesday.
