"General Manager is the biggest waiter, for he has to serve investors, guests and employees," said Zhao Li, the general manager of Beijing Guizhou Hotel. He has been engaged in the hotel management industry since 1989. He joined Beijing Guizhou Hotel in 2012, and prior to taking that role, he had worked for Wangfu Peninsula Hotel, Kempinski Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hotel and so on. "Working for the hotel industry is a very fashionable career, but it requires a lot of work and a lot of heart."

Since 1999, Beijing Guizhou Hotel, the Guizhou government offices in Beijing, has had ties to Guizhou Province and Beijing. With the second renovation and system reform, it now belongs to Guizhou Tourism Investment Holding Co., LTD. Beijing Guizhou Hotel, as the window of Guizhou, highlights the culture and customs of ethnic groups in Guizhou, such as the Miao, Shui and Buyi.

"Creating a window into Guizhou Province is our responsibility while providing a warm home is our nature. We spare no efforts in giving every customer the feeling of warmth while also giving customers a unique experience," said Zhao.

The Chinese restaurant is also one of the highlights here. Guizhou is a place where the majority of ethnic groups in China are gathered and therefore the food is also multiethnic. You can taste the most authentic Guizhou food because the chef uses all raw materials and techniques straight from Guizhou. Meanwhile, nearly 10 percent of hotel workers in Beijing Guizhou Hotel are from various minority nationalities in Guizhou, which incisively and vividly reflect the motto of "Everywhere is Guizhou."

Beijing Guizhou Hotel attaches great importance to the enterprise of social responsibility. For example, abiding by the principle of "Vehicles Plate Number Traffic Restriction," the hotel has implemented the service of "one bedding for one guest." This year, Beijing Guizhou Hotel joined hundreds of millions of people across the globe by switching off the exterior and public area lighting for one hour.

"Participating in the Earth Hour event is acknowledging our commitment to personal and operational actions that benefit the planet. While Earth Hour can't solve the basic problem, we want to make significant and influential steps, which can arouse people's awareness," Zhao added.

Facing the fiercely competitive hotel industry, Zhao said, "We will improve our professional skills through training and appraisal. What is more, we should attach importance to highlighting our hotel's unique characteristics."
