Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People's Court sentenced several defendants to between 19 months and 10 years in prison for smuggling 33 people from Fujian Province into the US, the news website eastday.com reported Tuesday. The defendants, known as "snakeheads," helped the illegal immigrants stow away on international flights from 2009 to 2011.
