Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono pledged on Monday his full support to the implementation of ASEAN Community slated for 2015, assuring he was ready to work with ASEAN to ensure the successful progress of ASEAN Community building.

Yudhoyono's pledge was conveyed to ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh during his courtesy call visit to Indonesia's presidential palace here.

In his meeting with Minh, the president welcomed and extended warmest congratulation to Minh for assuming his post as secretary- general of ASEAN.

Yudhoyono said that Indonesia is pleased to see the progress made by ASEAN towards the creation of ASEAN Single Community.

Minh expressed gratitude for Indonesia's steadfast support to ASEAN Community building as well as to the ASEAN Secretariat thus far.

He further informed Yudhoyono on the progress achieved towards creating the ASEAN Community, but admitted there were also challenges in the implementation of ASEAN Community pillars that consist of ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC), ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC).

Short period of time to attain ASEAN Community was another challenge faced by stakeholders in ASEAN countries as the ASEAN Community is scheduled to be established in 2015, Minh said in a statement released by the ASEAN Secretariat to Xinhua.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction on the progress made in the implementation of ASEAN Community building and agreed on points and priorities to achieve the ASEAN Community by 2015. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.
