Geely is to unveil its first self-developed, world advanced electric car at the 2013 Shanghai International Auto Show to be held on April 19. Geely Electric Car's co-debut with KC Concept car on the Show fully demonstrates the automaker's latest achievements and breakthroughs in its strategic development to “integrate the international advanced technology resources to build Geely's new quality”.
 
Integrating leading technology in the field of electric vehicles, Geely's electric car has gone through extensive validation and testing, and witnessed Geely's firm step forward in the field of new energy vehicles. The electric car is equipped with electric drive technology and two sets of batteries support a medium mileage (about 165km) and a long mileage (about 250km) separately. The innovative two-speed high-torque transmission empowers the car superior efficiency and performance. The car can achieve rapid acceleration (0 to 100 km / h in less than 7 seconds) and more than 200 km / h maximum speed relying on a 150kW motor. So far, the car is prepared technically and ready to be released from the fourth quarter of this year. The sales in next year targets at 1000 and will increase year by year on this basis.
 
Energy-saving and new energy cars are the highlights of this exhibition. A pioneer in the new energy trend, Geely's new electric car is the fresh start with cooperation with foreign capitals, which overcomes critical bottlenecks around design and technology. The new type promoted is still unique in current domestic market. According to Geely, the new vehicle, combining the most advanced electric vehicle R & D technical resources, is designed together by the Chinese and foreign electric car experts.
 
Committed to improving the traditional automotive manufacturing technology, Geely is fermenting the plan to develop the new energy vehicles. According to Geely, the company has so far injected more than 1 billion yuan into R & D of the new energy vehicles. In particular, Geely's cooperation with the foreign capital and integration of the world-class technology lead to a substantive progress on R&D of energy-saving and new energy vehicles in recent years. The technical reserve has been basically completed; the business model is being tested in full swing and Geely is expected to play a bigger role in this new field.
