First batch of Myanmar athletes undergo training in China

The first batch of 11 Myanmar athletes on Wednesday left here to undergo a three-month training in China in preparations for the 27th Southeast Asian Games to be hosted in Myanmar this year.

Under the Sports Technical Cooperation Project between China and Myanmar, 10 batches of 176 Myanmar athletes, officials and team leaders will undergo joint-training in China from April to October. Wuhan, Changsha and Kunming are selected as training bases which will provide well-experienced coaches and fine equipment for Myanmar athletes.

U Khin Maung Lwin who is Joint Secretary General of Myanmar Olympic Committee told Xinhua at Yangon International Airport that he believed that the move will help promote the qualities of Myanmar athletes.

The 27th SEA Games will be held in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and Ngwesaung beach from December 11 to 22.
