A ceremony to award the Pudong Annual Economic Figure of 2012 was held Thursday.
The top 10 people were chosen from 100 candidates in the fields of e-commerce, securities, pharmaceuticals, banking, automobiles, airlines, lighting, machine manufacturing and high-tech.
The 100 candidates come out of 98 percent of the industries in the district. Twenty-four of the 100 candidates were expatriates. With the help of Pudong government, Pudong Television Station hosted the selection contest for the first time to mark the 23rd anniversary of Pudong's reform and opening-up policy.
The figures will play a leading role in the development of Pudong New Area, according to the selection committee's panel of judges.
"I believe that the economic figure can be far-reaching in China and all over the world," said Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of the Hurun Report.
