Spanish star Rafa Nadal is already on track to his eighth trophy in the tennis tournament Conde de Godo in Barcelona after beating Canada's Milos Raonic 6-4, 6-0 on Saturday.

Players had to play in heavy conditions because of the rain, which forced the organization to delay the semifinal matches by almost five hours.

The organization decided that the two semifinals matches would be held at the same time with Nadal and Raonic playing in the central court and the Spanish Nicolas Almagro and Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber in the court one of the Real Club de Tenis of Barcelona.

The fifth-ranked Nadal started less focused and Raonic, ranked 13th in the world, played hard at the beginning winning the first two games in a tight first set. However the Spaniard managed to dominate the rest of the set beating Raonic 6-4.

Nadal clearly dominated the second set, breaking Raonic's serve at least three times, while playing the best match of the week after suffering in previous games to beat Argentina's Carlos Berloq in the second round and the French player Benoit Paire on Friday.

Meanwhile, Almagro beat German player Kohlschreiber 6-2, 6-1 in only 51 minutes. Almagro reached the tournament's final for the first time and will play Nadal on Sunday.
