Vietnam central committee holds meeting to review party work

The seventh meeting of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, 11th Congress, kicked off here on Thursday and was chaired by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

During the meeting, participants will review, make suggestions to, and approve several issues about the party work as well as the country's, of which six major issues will be put on the highlight.

They include continuation and perfection of the political system, from the central to local levels; renewal and strengthening of the party's leadership on public relations; the draft amendments to the Constitution 1992; one-year implementation of the Party Resolution 4 about the Party building; and response to climate change, protection for natural resources and the environment.

The working agenda covers complicated, yet extremely important issues for the country's sustainable development, which will not only implemented during the 11th party congress, but also for the following ones. Hence, participants should prove their full responsibility while reviewing and making suggestions to the reports, so as the meeting will end with the best outcomes, emphasized party leader Nguyen Phu Trong at the opening ceremony.

The meeting is scheduled to last until May 11.
