More than 50 tourist attractions in the city will offer half-priced tickets to visitors on May 19, which marks China National Tourism Day, the city's tourism bureau said Tuesday.

The date was chosen because it's supposedly the day that historic writer and traveler Xu Xiake (1587-1641) started his book "Travel Notes of Xu Xiake," one of the first books to map China's geography.
