England's Howard Webb has been named by world football's governing body FIFA as one of 10 referees that will officiate at the Confederations Cup in Brazil next month.

Webb, who refereed the 2010 World Cup and Champions League finals, will be aided by his regular assistants Michael Mullarkey and Darren Cann.

The 41-year-old from Yorkshire joins fellow European referees Bjorn Kuipers of the Netherlands, Pedro Proenca Oliveira Alves Garcia of Portugal and Felix Brych of Germany.

The other main match officials are: Ravshan Irmatov (Uzbekistan), Yuichi Nishimura (Japan), Djamel Haimoudi (Algeria), Joel Antonio Aguilar Chicas (El Salvador), Diego Hernan Abal (Argentina) and Enrique Roberto Oses Zencovich (Chile).

The Confederations Cup, which will begin on June 15 and is considered as an organizational warmup for the World Cup a year later, will also feature goalline technology for the first time at a major international tournament.
