Myanmar Airways (MA) will extend international flights to more countries by the end of this year to make travel easier for passengers, a local private daily reported Tuesday.
The airline will extend its flights to Japan, South Korea, China, China's Taiwan and Hong Kong, said the Yangon Times Daily.
At present, MA is operating its flights to Gaya of India, Chiang Mai of Thailand and the airline is also planning to launch flights to other countries in the region.
MA was established in September 1940.
In addition to the 64-year-old state-operated MA, five other private-run domestic airlines are operating in Myanmar, namely Air Mandalay,Yangon Airways, Air Bagan, Asian Wings and Air Kanbawza.
