One man was killed in a mine blast in Muse, Myanmar's eastern Shan State, Friday night, official media reported Saturday.

The bomb explosion occurred at a rubbish heap near the southwest fence of the township forest department's staff quarter in Homon Ward in Muse at 9:45 pm (local time), said the New Light of Myanmar.

He was apparently hit by the mine while attempting to set off the mine.

Investigation is underway into the incident.
