Japanese government confirmed the DPRK's missile launches on Saturday, saying none of the missiles landed in Japan's territorial waters, Kyodo news agency quoted an official as saying.
South Korea's Yonhap News Agency earlier reported that the DPRK had launched three short-range guided missiles into the Sea of Japan on Saturday, citing the country's defense ministry.
It is reported that the defense ministry detected two missiles launched in the morning and the last one was in the afternoon.
Just a day earlier, Japanese local media reported that Japan planed to permanently deploy interceptors capable of shooting down DPRK missiles at the Defense Ministry compound in Tokyo, citing a government source.
On April 7, Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera ordered the Self-Defense Forces to shoot down DPRK missiles in the event any were fired. It also deployed the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 interceptors at the ministry compound in Tokyo's Ichigaya on April 9, by relocating them from their usual site in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, said Kyodo News Agency.
