A 65-year-old farmer from Leibo county in Sichuan Province is nearly finished building his own helicopter after three years of hard work, an accomplishment that is expected to make it easier for him to herd sheep.

Han Lamo, who attended only a few years of school at primary school long ago, came up with the idea of building a helicopter after years of herding sheep in the mountainous territory of his hometown.

The aircraft is expected to fly next month. It features an odd exterior, with motorcycle wheels and an engine resting outside the aircraft.

Han said the last step is to install a propeller and further straighten out the electrical line. He hopes to give the helicopter a test run in time for the traditional Dragon Boat Festival holiday next month, which falls on June 12.
