Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono announced on Monday that Leut. General Moedoko as new army of staff, replacing General Pramono Edhie Wibowo.

"I have decided to appoint Leut. General Moeldoko as new army chief of staff," President Yudhoyono said at the State Palace.

Moeldoko was deputy army chief of staff, said Yudhoyono.

Pramono has entered his retirement, according to Yudoyono.

"I have given advice to new army of chief to make the army professional soldier," he said.

Moeldoko's inauguration will be done on Wednesday, said Yudhoyono.
