Horticultural producers from around Australia will share new technologies, ideas and business skills during the AUSVEG National Convention, held at Queensland's sunny Gold Coast in May-June 2013.

Delegates representing 11 nations including China, the US, U. K. and the United Arab Emirates are set to attend the event, which is reported to be growing in international recognition.

"Australian-grown vegetables are considered the cream of the crop in terms of their international standard of quality and safety, so it's great to see the rest of the globe sit up and pay attention to the AUSVEG National Convention," said AUSVEG national marketing manager Simon Coburn.

This year's convention will focus on global opportunities and possibilities.

The Australian vegetable industry is increasingly focusing on international export markets, particularly the growing Chinese middle class, with projects including a Reverse Trade Mission and Exporting to China Symposium taking place over the coming weeks.
