A 6.5-magnitude earthquake jolted the sea area off the eastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia at 9:55 am Tuesday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 30 km, was monitored at 52.5 degrees north latitude and 160.5 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
