A 6.2-magnitude earthquake jolted the sea area off the eastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia at 1:43 pm Tuesday Beijing time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter, with a depth of 30 km, was monitored at 52.3 degrees north latitude and 160.0 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
The same area has witnessed several strong quakes for the past couple of hours.
