The E150EV manufactured by Chinese automaker BAIC Group began trial rental services in Beijing, meaning that Beijing has stepped into the era of private consumption on EVs.

It is the first time that Beijing has allowed the public to rent electric vehicles. Costs include 99 yuan ($16.12) per day to 1,999 yuan per month. The costs of using EV are much lower than that of gasoline-powered cars.

An EV can be charged with 23.5 kilowatt-hours, only costing 18.8 yuan and can run at least 120 km with an electric charge of 0.157 yuan per kilometer.

It takes 4 hours to charge an EV at a slow charge or 40 minutes with quick charging.
