South Korea has officially appointed its new ambassadors to China, the US and Japan after receiving the consent of the three countries on their nomination, South Korean foreign ministry said Tuesday.

According to Yonhap news agency, former lawmaker Kwon Young-se will become the next ambassador to Beijing, while former vice foreign minister Ahn Ho-young will be appointed the new US ambassador. Meanwhile Lee Byung-kee, the adviser for a think tank of the ruling Saenuri Party, was tapped as the next ambassador to Japan. All will assume office by the beginning of next month.
