Ten people were killed and dozens injured in renewed clashes between Al-Gimir and Bani Halba tribes in Sudan's South Darfur State, Khartoum's Alahram Alyoum daily reported Thursday.

"An armed group from Bani Halba tribe attacked Kateila locality, where Al-Gimir tribe dwelled, killing ten people and injuring dozens of others," the report said.

"The group onboard 30 vehicles equipped with heavy arms attacked Kateila area in South Darfur State," the paper quoted Abbaker Al-Toam, a native administration leader in the state, as saying.

He further noted that the attack was the second of its kind following the declaration of truce and cessation of hostilities between the two parties.

Early this May, armed clashes took place between Al-Gimir and Bani Halba tribes in South Darfur State, which resulted in the killing and injuring of 112 people from the both sides.
