Madagascar's Electoral Special Court (CES) published a statement on Friday that authorities who are candidates to the July's presidential election should resign from position on time.

"The Electoral Special Court remind all candidates in the presidential election of July 24 2013, who are required to resign from their duties in accordance with the law, that they should put their resignations at the CES office," the statement said.

In its explanation on May 15, the CES said that according to the law, all political authorities in position in the transition should resign 60 days before the date of election, that is before Saturday, May 25, 2013.

According to the agenda of the CENIT, the first round of presidential election in Madagascar is scheduled for July 24, while the second round was set for Sept. 25 with the legislative elections.
