Indian President Pranab Mukherjee Friday expressed dismay over the repeated disruptions in Parliament and urged the politicians to find a solution to the menace.
"I am sad when I find that Parliamentary proceedings and state assembly proceedings are disrupted without transacting businesses. We find surreptitiously a new 'D' inserted along with debate, dissent and decision and the 'D' is disruption," the President said while addressing legislators in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh's capital Shimla.
He added: "I find in political science no role of disruption in Parliamentary democracy. Repeated disruptions are also hampering proper debate and discussion on finance bills crucial for the country."
President Mukherjee urged politicians "to ponder over the disruptions and find a solution".
The Indian Parliament had witnessed a spate of disruptions during the last three to four sessions by the country's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party over corruption scandals.
