Despite unhappiness over recent election results, Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim announced Wednesday that all 89 members of Parliament of the opposition alliance Pakatan Rakyat (PKR) will attend the swearing- in of Parliament on June 24.
It was previously reported that the opposition alliance decided to boycott the swearing-in of Parliament in protest of the election result of the 13th general election which was held on May 5.
However, the Opposition leader told reporters at a press conference at the PKR headquarters that there was a misunderstanding over the matter, as they only decided to boycott the parliament briefing.
"We believe in the spirit of parliamentary democracy and have decided to attend the first day of Parliament," he said.
