A bus burst in flames near Qingnian Road in Wuhan, Central China’s Hubei Province on June 18, 2013. The fire was quickly put out and no casualties were reported among the dozens of passengers aboard.

No.2: Anhui official dismissed for alleged gambling debt  安徽局长澳门豪赌 4778


An Anhui Province official was dismissed in early June for an allegedly racking up a substantial gambling debt in Macao’s casinos, reported chengdu.cn on June 17.

Li Baode, who served as head of the taxation bureau in Guanzhuang, Suzhou since 2008, was removed from office after web user posted in a local internet forum on June 16 that Li had lost tens of millions of yuan while gambling in Macao. 

According to local disciplinary officials, similar posts had appeared about Li in late May accusing him of drug addiction. A police investigation is still underway.

No.3: Two suns appear above Chongqing  重庆两个太阳 26539

As Chongqing in Central China languished in an ongoing heat wave, two suns appeared in the sky, the result of a rare occurring natural phenomenon.  

According to a Sina Weibo post by the city’s meteorological bureau on June 18, the double suns are an example of parhelion. 

Commonly called “sun dogs” or “phantom suns”, parhelion is when a second sun appears at the same height above the horizon as the result of refraction from gasses, ice crystals or other matter in the sky. Parhelion often occurs near sunset.
