Salome

Beijing's 9CDT Production and Performance has adapted Oscar Wilde's 1891 tragedy Salome into a modern dance. The story of Princess Salome, stepdaughter of Herod, dates back to the book of Matthew in the Bible. In the original story, Salome dances for Herod's birthday feast, and as a reward requests the head of John the Baptist, thereby becoming responsible for his death.
