A maintenance worker mistakenly played a pornographic movie on a giant LED screen in front of the railway station's main square in Jilin, Jilin Province, Xinhua News Agency reported Sunday.

The Hong Kong porn film The Forbidden Legend Sex & Chopsticks, which is banned on the Chinese mainland, played on the screen attached to a building some 200 meters from the station for nearly ten minutes at 9 pm on June 26, attracting passersby to stop and watch.

Police found out that the screen was owned by an advertisement company in the building, which had asked the maintenance worker, identified by his surname, Yuan, to repair the screen on June 21.

Yuan had played the porn on a computer to watch that night without knowing that it was also connected to the screen. Some ten minutes later, the ad company called Yuan to stop the movie that was playing on the screen outside.

Yuan immediately disconnected the computer from the screen and threw the disk out a window of the building.

It is unclear whether the disk was later  retrieved by police, and if Yuan is in any formal trouble with the law over the incident.

But according to police, an individual who plays porn on a giant display board can be held responsible for spreading pornographic audiovisual products.
