Egypt's army has not set a specific time for making any statements or speeches, an official military spokesman said on Wednesday.

"The Armed Forces general leadership asserts that it has not announced any specific time for making statements or speeches," Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Ali said on his official Facebook page, noting that any military statements or speeches will be made on time.

The statement came about 90 minutes before the expiration of the army's 48-hour ultimatum given to President Mohamed Morsi and other parties to resolve the ongoing political crisis.
