A local female farmer turned heads during an international strongman contest for showing how a “farmer’s walk” is really done.

As part of the 2013 World’s Strongman Contest, which wrapped up in Zhengzhou, Henan Province on July 11, herculean competitors visited a farm in nearby Zhongmou for the “farmer’s walk” – an event which involves carrying heavy baskets of watermelons over a set distance.

As the muscular men readied for the event, the middle-aged woman walked past carrying two similarly full baskets of watermelons, estimated to weigh over 50 kilograms.

“It’s not a big deal. We farmers can all do that at work,” said the woman.

Other competition events included the keg toss, dead lifts and aircraft/truck pulls.

Despite the woman’s stunning impromptu performance, Lithuania’s Žydrūnas Savickas was crowned champion among a total 32 competitors hailing from 31 countries and regions.

The “farmer’s walk” is a regular strongman competition event that involves a timed race while carrying a heavy weight, usually an anvil, that ranges from 125 to 170 kilograms.
