Police found no explosives in a wooden box on Huaihai Road Middle Sunday after receiving a call that the item was "suspicious," the news portal eastday.com reported.

Huangpu district police received the phone call around 12:20 pm from someone who reported that the box was suspicious.

Police, armed police and firefighters arrived at the site to discover that the box only contained sand.
