Nepal veteran communist leader passes away

Nepal's veteran communist leader and founding member of the Communist party of Nepal (CPN) Nara Bahadur Karmacharya passed away on Wednesday.

He was 90 and suffering from jaundice and pneumonia,

The CPN is the first communist party of Nepal established in 1949, which latter split into dozens communist parties in Nepal. An emergency meeting of Cabinet has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the communist leader.

Similarly, top leaders of major political parties UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have expressed the condolence to the family.

Late Karmacharya was serving as a member of the advisory committee in the UCPN (Maoist), the largest party in Nepal.

"His death is irreparable loss to the party and the communist movement of Nepal," the UCPN (Maoist) said in a press statement. Karmacharya was into active politics since 1940s.
