Liu Jian, new Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, was welcomed by local Chinese communities upon his arrival.

Liu, accompanied by his wife Chen Xiaoling, visited Ed Chau, the assemblyman serving the 49th district in California, senator Ted Lieu, and some Chinese associations, including the Chinese American Federation, the Roundtable of Chinese-American Organizations, and the Global Unified Chinese Organizations from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

Liu said that he was deeply impressed by the patriotism of the Chinese community in the US and hoped to work closely with them.
