Xu Long, general manager of China Mobile's Guangdong branch, and his wife, have been brought under investigation by the Guangdong Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China Friday, China Business News reported Monday.

Xu is another China Mobile executive under investigation after Zhang Chunjiang, the former vice chairman of China Mobile, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve in 2011. So far, nearly 20 executives from China Mobile are under investigation.

Xu has been the chairman and general manager of Guangdong Mobile since 2005. And the branch has been the largest and most profitable provincial company of China Mobile.

In 2012, the branch realized revenues of 81.06 billion yuan ($13.25 billion), and a profit of 23.81 billion yuan, accounting for 14.47 percent and 18.42 percent of the whole group respectively.

However, some insiders said that Guangdong Mobile had the issues of nepotism, mismanagement and loss of talents during Xu's tenure.
