On July 30, 33 models (available in 64 configurations in total) produced by Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd., two subsidiaries of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, were included in the "12th Government Procurement List on Environmental Labeling Products".

Since October 24, 2006, based on the category and relevant requirements, the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Environmental Protection have chosen products which are energy-saving and safe to both environment and human from all the environmental labeling products certificated by those certification organizations accredited by the state, and then release the List. When procuring goods, the government should give preference to the products on the List. If the procurement department does not purchase products as required, relevant authorities may give proper punishment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and the financial department may refuse to pay the procurement bills at its own discretion.

Besides the above requirements, those sedans on the List should be equipped with 1.8L engines and be priced at less than 180,000 yuan, but other models like Geely's SUV GX7 produced in Chengdu manufacturing base are free of this requirement. Meanwhile, all the manufacturers on the List are required to guarantee a stable supply of products on the List within the validity period of the procurement contract. They shall not refuse to participate in the government procurement for the reason of discontinuing production or stock out; nor shall they turn down the government's invitation to join the procurement activities.

Generally speaking, the revised List is promulgated in every January and July. The List promulgated in January will be publicized in the last December, while the List promulgated in July will be publicized in June. Therefore, the 13th List will be publicized in December of 2013 and promulgated in January of 2014.

The Planning and Engineering Department of Geely Group has been responsible for Geely's application for the List since the 3rd List. The new round of application started from June 20, 2013, when China Environmental Certification Center of Ministry of Environmental Protection released the Publicity Notice of the 12th Government Procurement List on Environmental Labeling Products, and ended on July 10. In order to ensure the success of those models' application for the List, the Planning and Engineering Department, together with Geely's sales company and manufacturing companies in Ningbo, Xiangtan and Chengdu, discussed the configuration, price and production status of various models and finally selected 33 models (available in 64 configurations in total) to apply for the List.
