Maltese police and the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) said on Wednesday that a group of 115 irregular migrants was brought to Malta at Tuesday night.

Another 84 were rescued from a dinghy some 18 miles south of Malta on Tuesday morning, putting the number of immigrants brought to Malta to 199 in 24 hours.

The immigrants were rescued from a dinghy in open seas by a patrol boat of the AFM.

The dinghy was first located 90 miles off Malta on Monday. The patrol boat arrived at Tuesday afternoon.
