Anti-war protests have been held across the world, as the US openly discusses military action against Syria.

In Jordan, protesters gathered outside the US embassy in Amman to voice opposition to military intervention in Syria, over the government's alleged use of chemical weapons. The demonstrators chanted slogans and set fire to US and Israeli flags.

In Australia, hundreds of protesters demonstrated against US intervention, with protesters in Sydney and Brisbane waving placards and chanting "Hands off Syria". Some Syrians living in Australia expressed strong support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Anti-war protests were also held across the US on Saturday. According to an NBC News poll released on Friday, half of Americans say they're opposed to any US military action in Syria, even if it's limited to offshore airstrikes.
