Twenty-four business commuter shuttles began operating on Monday, the Beijing Times reported.

The first batch of bus lines, which comprise a total of 168 stops, run from major office building areas such as Zhongguancun and Guomao to major residential compounds in Huilongguan, Wangjing and Guanzhuang. Tickets prices range from 8-32 yuan. The morning buses start operating at 6 am and the evening buses around 6 pm.

The shuttle buses, which ensure a seat for every passenger, are air-conditioned and equipped with Wi-Fi. They are allowed to use the designated lanes for public buses. In theory, once half the seats on a shuttle have been booked, the line can start operating.
