A man in Southwest China's Sichuan Province received a 10-day administrative detention on Saturday after throwing excrement on a street cleaner, local police confirmed to the Global Times Sunday.

Lin Bo, 35, wrote an apology letter afterwards to the street cleaner, Zeng Wuxu, 52, who works on Renhe Street in the city of Yibin, and posted it on a local forum as a negative example, according to the Sichuan-based Chengdu Business Daily.

"Lin also made a face-to-face apology to Zeng," Zhong Yu, a local police officer who was in charge of the case, said.

Lin's son, believed to be 3 or 4 years old, needed to use a bathroom on Friday afternoon, when he was shopping with Lin and his wife at a clothes shop.

Lin and Zeng quarreled after the boy emptied his bowels on the side of the street, Zhong said, but refused to say more about the case.

According to a chinanews.com report, Zeng said she saw Lin's son's feces on piece of paper on the street and the family went back to the shop, then when Zeng asked Lin to throw the feces into a dust bin, Lin refused and said it was Zeng's work. The report said Zeng then asked Lin to show her respect, but Lin threw the feces at her. Zeng claimed that Lin told her that because she was a cleaner, she was responsible for cleaning it up.

"When he wanted to throw it again, I hid behind an old person, and he didn't dare throw again then," Zeng said.

Zeng explained that her tools weren't appropriate for the task and said she was responsible for cleaning the street, and her job was not necessarily cleaning up feces.

However, Lin's wife said the disputes were stirred up because Zeng said something unpleasant.
