The 2013 Zhejiang Business Leader Summit was held in the Great Hall of People in Zhejiang Province on August 28. The summit was co-sponsored by Zhejiang Federation of Industrial Economics, Zhejiang Enterprise Confederation and Zhejiang Enterprise Directors Association. On the conference, the Top 100 Enterprises of Zhejiang Province were announced and the meritorious entrepreneurs of the Double Eight Strategy were commended and awarded prizes. Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, with a revenue of 154.895 billion yuan, ranked second among the Top 100 Enterprises of Zhejiang Province and first among the Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises of Zhejiang Province. Li Shufu, Chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, won the title of Meritorious Entrepreneur.

In 2003, Xi Jinping, who was Secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee then, launched the Double Eight Strategy which aims at promoting eight advantages of Zhejiang and proposed eight solutions to enhancing these advantages. During the following decade, with the deployment of Double Eight Strategy, enterprises and entrepreneurs of Zhejiang Province have seized the development opportunities, made innovations on thoughts of development, expanded development space and accelerated the promotion of enterprises transformation and upgrading. During the process, they have gained a lot of valuable experience and spiritual treasure. Many advanced enterprises and role models also sprung up.

It is known that the list of the Top 100 Enterprises of Zhejiang Province is made and issued by Zhejiang Enterprise Confederation and Zhejiang Enterprise Directors Association. And it was issued for the first time in 2002. The ranking of the list is made according to the current international 2012 revenue of the enterprises. According to the statistics from the list, the total revenue of the Top 100 Enterprises of Zhejiang Province has increased by 12.67 percent from last year to 3071.779 billion yuan. The total assets of the enterprises have increased by 10.97 percent from last year to 2077.375 billion yuan. And these enterprises paid a total tax of 146.1 billion yuan last year which accounts for 1/6 of the total tax of Zhejiang Province.

This year, with a revenue of 154.895 billion yuan, Geely ranks second among the Top 100 Enterprises of Zhejiang Province and first among the Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises of Zhejiang Province. Moreover, last year, the total assets of Geely(113.262 billion yuan) ranked third in Zheiang Province and its amount of tax payment(8.785 billion yuan) ranked third in Zhejiang Province.

Geely has an outstanding performance in terms of research and development and overseas development. It invests 7.27 billion yuan in research and development, which is the most among the Top 100 Enterprises of Zhejiang Province. It has 5616 patents which rank first in Zhejiang Province. And its 4.69 percent R&D intensity ranks second in Zhejiang Province. Besides, Geely also earns the most from abroad among the enterprises in Zhejiang Province. Its revenue and assets internationalization have reached the level of transnational corporations in developed countries of Europe and America. Its overseas revenue reaches 129.278 billion yuan and takes up 73 percent of its total revenue. And its overseas assets also take up 67.33 percent of its total assets.  

It is also known that it needs more to become a member of the Top 100 Enterprises of Zhejiang Province. Growing from 0.8 billion yuan in 2003 to 10.2 billion yuan in 2013, the revenue standard has increased by 12.75 times in 10 years. Compared with 9.280 billion yuan last year, the revenue baseline also increases by 9.94 percent which surpasses the growth rate of GDP. This also implies that the growth demonstration effect of large corporations in Zhejiang Province is remarkable. Geologically, nearly 91 percent of the Top 100 enterprises are located in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Shaoxing and Wenzhou. It is a stable trend for these enterprises to establish their companies in Hangzhou, Ningbo and Shaoxing which have already become the headquarters economy centers for the Top 100 Enterprises.
