Local urban management officials confiscated more than 6,000 birds during a two-month crackdown on illegal poultry businesses in July and August, authorities said in a press release Tuesday.

The campaign targeted illegal roadside poultry sellers. It aims to ensure the effect of the live poultry sales regulations that took effect in June.
