Jordanian King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein is to pay a state visit to China from Sept. 15 to 18 and attend the China-Arab States Expo at the invitation of Chinese President
Xi Jinping.
King Abdullah II was born in Amman on Jan. 30, 1962. He studied at the Islamic Educational College in Amman, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Britain, and Oxford University.
The king has a long service history in the Jordanian armed forces, becoming commander of the special forces in 1993 and being promoted to the rank of major general in 1998.
He ascended the throne on Feb. 7, 1999, and has visited China six times as king.
