Colombian police said Tuesday that they seized a ton of marijuana hidden in a truck carrying oranges.

"The capture took place on a road linking midwestern Paila and Armenia city, where the narcotic substance was found camouflaged in packages on its way to the country's capital," a police statement said.

The truck driver has been apprehended and will be prosecuted for the crime of trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs, it said.
