A woman in Chongqing has her egg-obsessed husband walking on eggshells after forcing him to sign an agreement that limits his daily intake.

The man surnamed Xu, is contractually obligated not to consume more than four eggs a week and no more than one a day - an offence punishable by 50 yuan ($8) per infraction.

Xu's wife said that her husband, who suffers from high blood sugar, is so fond of eggs that he eats them at every meal.

Xu, 180 centimeters tall and weighing 90 kilograms, loves his eggs any way they can be made: fried pepper with egg, steamed egg, stewed egg, tomato and eggs - you name it.

"He has been abiding by the agreement, which works better than my nagging," said Xu's wife.

According to nutritionist Wang Wei, although the limits outlined in the contract are reasonable, it would have been better for Xu's wife to have worked in an exercise clause.
